Hey! Iโm Dimple. ๐
Iโm a software engineer whoโs been writing Python for 8 years and still gets excited when something clicks. Currently a Senior Engineer, actively building toward Staff โ not because of the title, but because I genuinely want to understand how things work under the hood.
I live in Brazil ๐ง๐ท, work remotely, and spend most of my days deep in backend systems, databases, and the occasional existential crisis about distributed computing.
๐ง What I Do
I build backend systems. The kind that handle real traffic, talk to real databases, and break at 3 AM (less often now, thankfully). My sweet spot is taking something messy and making it clean โ whether thatโs a codebase, an architecture, or an API that makes you go โwhy?โ.
Languages: Python (fluent, opinionated), Go (learning, loving it)
Databases: PostgreSQL, Redis, MongoDB
Tools: Docker, Linux, Git, and whatever gets the job done
Specialty: Asking โbut why does it work that way?โ until I actually understand
๐ Things Iโm Proud Of
- โก Built a programming language โ Arc, a statically-typed language with a lexer, parser, type checker, and interpreter. In Go. On a weekend. (I wrote about it)
- ๐ Pydantic contributor โ Migrated DSN types for the V3 release. My first OSS contribution to one of the most popular Python libraries. PR #368
- ๐ CPython contributor โ Yes, the actual Python language. Doc improvements, but still โ itโs CPython. PR #144665
- ๐ Published researcher โ Two papers: one on stock market prediction with data mining, another on UAV control systems. I was into AI before it was cool.
- ๐ RFC writer โ I write design docs. My Redis Query Cache RFC scored 8.5/10 from the team. (Yes, Iโm keeping score.)
๐ Currently Reading List
I believe the best engineers never stop being students. Right now Iโm deep in:
- ๐ Designing Data-Intensive Applications โ the bible of system design
- ๐ Thinking, Fast and Slow โ turns out my brain has bugs too
- ๐ A Philosophy of Software Design โ complexity is the enemy
- ๐ย Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance
- ๐ย The basic law of Human Stupidity
๐ฑ The Human Stuff
Outside of code, Iโm:
- ๐ธ Learning ukulele (still terrible, but committed)
- ๐๏ธ Learning to ride a motor bike as an adult (yes, really โ and itโs going great)
- ๐ Running every morning at 5:30 AM (this one Iโm actually good at)
- ๐ง๐ท Learning Portuguese (because living in Brazil without it isโฆ an experience)
- ๐ Building a house (the ultimate long-running project with no unit tests)

โThe best engineers donโt just write code โ they understand systems. And then they explain them to others, because knowledge hoarded is knowledge wasted.โ
